From the GRAMMYs to Jazz in the Gardens, NE-YO’s X Factor rises

Fresh from the 55th annual GRAMMY Awards held last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles; Singer/Songwriter/Producer –NE-YO is music’s jubilant go-to-guy. The headline photo showcases more of NE-YO’s debonair fashion sense; donning a sportyYves Saint Laurent blazer, pictured at the honorary Clive Davis pre-GRAMMY gala, which happened to reappear in Miguel’s “Adorn” live-performance.

The private gala event paid homage to industry icons; whereas R&B/Soul’s leading men – NE-YO & fellow crooner Usher (pictured above) honored former X Factorjudge and legendary record executive,Antonio “L.A.” Reid. Interestingly enough, NE-YO hinted last night; he’s currently in negotiations for a judge role on the new season of reality-TV’s favorite guilty-pleasure,The X Factor.

NE-YO didn’t perform last night; however he presented with newcomer Carly Rae Jepsen at the climax of the awards show for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. Rapper,JAY Z & boycotter Kanye West took home the honor along with collaborators Frank Ocean and The-Dream; for “No Church in the Wild” off last year’s Batman & Robin-esquealbum – Watch the Throne.

Despite being snubbed in the R&B category, NE-YO was nominated for a gold-plated trophy in the Best Dance Recording category for “Let’s Go” a collaboration effort with UK’s international-success, Calvin Harris. The song nod was bested by Skrillex’s – “Bangarang” leaving him reluctant to already having not one, not two – but three GRAMMY’s under his belt.
